Special Concert Tracing the History and Masterpieces of Japanese Pop Music "TOKYO POP CHRONICLE" Featuring Ginji Ito, Ami Ozaki, Michiko Shimizu, Yoshitaka Minami, and More

A concert titled "TOKYO POP CHRONICLE," themed around the numerous pop music creations born in Tokyo during the 1970s and 80s, will bring together magnificent artists who have colored Japan's music scene. The event will be held on September 26, 2026 (Sat) at SGC Hall Ariake.

"TOKYO POP CHRONICLE" will explore the lineage of urban music, starting with Happy End and Sugar Babe, through live performances and special talks by artists who have shaped Japanese pop music. You can experience the charm of TOKYO POP while delving into the stories and creators' sentiments behind many of its masterpieces.

The lineup includes artists who have built the history of Japanese pop music, such as Ginji Ito, Ami Ozaki, Sachiko Kanenobu, Michiko Shimizu, Mari Sugisaki, Shigeru Suzuki, Bread & Butter, and Yoshitaka Minami.

Guest players will include Tatsuo Hayashi (Dr) and Rei Ohara (B), with a House Band led by Hiroshi Takano creating a special stage for this one night only. Furthermore, a special talk session featuring Takashi Matsumoto, Shigeru Suzuki, Sachiko Kanenobu, Yoshitaka Minami, and Shiro Sano will offer deeper insights into the appeal of TOKYO POP, covering behind-the-scenes of song creation and the music scene of the time.

Tickets will go on general sale starting at 10:00 AM on July 4, 2026 (Sat).
