Tanimoto Fusuma Launches 'Okifusuma': Traditional Craft Lighting for Modern Living

Tanimoto Fusuma Kosyoku Co., Ltd., an 80-year-old fusuma maker in Osaka, has launched 'Okifusuma,' a standalone lighting product under its new brand 'Tanimoto Fusuma.' Designed by MOTON DESIGN STUDIO, it reimagines traditional techniques by exposing internal lattice structures as decorative elements. The made-to-order lamp uses washi paper for soft illumination and targets modern homes, hotels, and international markets. Prices start at 98,000 JPY with a 30-day production lead time.
