The special exhibition "Children's Art Museum Exhibition in Aquas" is being held at Shimane Prefectural Aquarium Aquas, one of the largest aquariums in the Chushikoku region spanning Hamada City and Gotsu City in Shimane Prefecture, from July 4 (Sat) to September 27 (Sun), 2026. At this exhibition, the interactive art piece "Osakana Kenkyu Labo: Bikkuriez," created by five fourth-year students belonging to Professor Kohei Asano's Interactive Art Laboratory in the Department of Interactive Media, Faculty of Art, is being exhibited during the exhibition period.

The exhibited work, "Osakana Kenkyu Labo: Bikkuriez," is an interactive art piece that plays a little trick on the sea creatures drawn by the five student creators. By pumping air into the water tank with a foot pump to generate bubbles, the creatures are surprised and show various reactions. The content allows people of all ages, from children to adults, to enjoy interacting with the work and experience the unique expressions and charm of interactive art.

On July 4 (Sat), the opening day of the special exhibition, the students who created the work gave a presentation about it, and a creative workshop titled "Let's Make Original Puffy Stickers of Sea Friends" was also held by nine third-year students from the laboratory.

At this special exhibition as well, our university's Interactive Media Laboratory is participating with an exhibition of a total of eight works, including an interactive installation piece by Professor Asano and works by fourth-year students and graduates belonging to the laboratory.

This special exhibition "Sawatte Tanoshimu Touch Museum II - Forest and Sea" at the "Hamada City World Children's Museum of Art" and the special exhibition "Children's Art Museum Exhibition in Aquas" at "Shimane Prefectural Aquarium Aquas" are being held in collaboration between two social education facilities located in Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture.
