Ramsar Registered Wetland 'Katano Kamoike' Katano Kamoike, located in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is one of Japan's leading wintering grounds for wild ducks. Notably, about half of the nation's wintering Baikal teals migrate here. Its rich nature, preserved through coexistence with local life and traditional 'Saka-ami' (net hunting), was recognized, and it was registered as a Ramsar site in 1993. At the 'Kaga City Kamoike Observation Center' by the pond, visitors can enjoy nature observation with commentary from rangers.
