Takeo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Junichi Hirado) will hold the "IMPRINTED - Hiroshi Sugimoto Poster Exhibition" from Friday, July 31 to Friday, September 11, at the Takeo Mihoncho Main Store in Kanda-Nishikicho, Tokyo.

Hiroshi Sugimoto is a contemporary artist who works across diverse fields such as photography, architecture, performing arts, calligraphy, and ceramics.

As a related project to the "Hiroshi Sugimoto: Lost History" exhibition currently being held at The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, this exhibition will feature a curated selection of exhibition posters held in Japan and around the world by Mr. Sugimoto since 1980.

Experience his aesthetic sense, philosophy, and creative world through posters where paper, printing, and photographic expression resonate.

Hiroshi Sugimoto

Born in 1948. After moving to the United States in 1970, he has continued to create works, commuting between New York and Japan since 1974. His early representative works include the "Diorama," "Seascape," and "Theaters" series. In 2008, he established the architectural design office "New Material Research Laboratory," and in 2009, the Odawara Art Foundation. In 2017, he opened the cultural facility "Odawara Art Foundation Enoura Observatory," which was constructed over 10 years from its conception. His production and spatial design for "At the Hawk's Well" was performed at the Paris Opera in the autumn of 2019. His books include "Until the Moss Grows," "Genzo," "The Origins of Art," "Enoura Kitaden," and "Kageoi Nikki." He received the Hasselblad Award in 2001, the Praemium Imperiale (Painting) in 2009, the Order of the Purple Ribbon in the autumn of 2010, and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters of France in 2013. He was selected as a Person of Cultural Merit in 2017 and became a member of the Japan Art Academy in 2023.
