TanoBa LLC, with the purpose of 'eliminating loneliness from the world' in a society where 'days of not talking to anyone' are gradually increasing, aims to expand its free-price community cafeteria 'Tanoba Shokudo' nationwide as a social infrastructure. Unlike typical restaurants, 'Tanoba Shokudo' fosters human connections through food. The company's representative director, Yoshitaka Miyamoto, announced this initiative from their headquarters in Nozawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.
'Tanoba Shokudo' started in Nozawa, Setagaya-ku, in October 2023 and is nearing its 30th event. In May 2026, a second location, 'Hayama Tanoba Shokudo,' will open in Hayama-cho, Kanagawa Prefecture. The company aims for a system of three domestic locations by the end of the year, expanding spaces that create 'loose connections' in various forms depending on the region.

This is not merely an expansion of the food service business. It is a challenge to implement a 'social mechanism to prevent unwanted loneliness' starting from small dining tables.
■ Our Dream: To Make Tanoba Shokudo a 'Social Infrastructure' Loneliness and isolation are not special problems but a 'daily risk' that can happen to anyone. Our goal is to create a state where people can naturally connect before these problems escalate.
For example: * You can go alone. * You can talk to someone a little. * You don't have to force relationships.
We envision such places existing in every town.
