TAOKE ENERGY, a leader in promoting distributed energy resources (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), announced that the grid connection for its "Oga City 2MW High-Voltage Energy Storage Plant" in Oga City, Akita Prefecture, was completed on May 19, 2026.

Aiming for Entry into the "Primary Balancing Power Market"

The project is scheduled to participate in the "primary balancing power (offline)" segment of the supply-demand adjustment market by August 2026.

The primary balancing power (offline) market requires high control performance and operational capability, defined by a response time of within 10 seconds and a duration of at least 5 minutes.

Accelerating National Development and Operations Based on Stable Track Record

TAOKE has previously entered the primary balancing power market with three domestic projects and has built a strong track record of operations.

Since its first project began operations in November 2025, the company has maintained stable operations to date. The Oga City energy storage plant is one of the projects utilizing this operational know-how.

Additionally, this project is part of TAOKE's first investment fund for utility-scale energy storage, for which fundraising was completed in late February 2026.

The company will continue to expand its energy storage business with a long-term perspective, including operations and maintenance.
