Terakoya Co., Ltd., a company dedicated to traditional Japanese culture through souvenir sales, will open its third concept shop, 'Monchhichi House,' themed around the character Monchhichi, in Miyajima, Hiroshima Prefecture, on June 25, 2026, based on a licensing agreement with Sekiguchi Co., Ltd.

Miyajima is a world-renowned tourist destination known as 'Aki no Miyajima,' one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, and is popular as a 'power spot' featuring historical sites like Itsukushima Shrine.

'Monchhichi House' is a cozy shop themed around 'gentle memories connected by Monchhichi, quietly by your side on important days.' This follows the openings of the first store in Kiyomizu-zaka, Kyoto (October 2025), and the second in Zenko-ji, Nagano (April 2026).

The store will feature standard products in red and white colors, as well as store-exclusive items themed after Miyajima, such as Monchhichi wearing deer costumes. To commemorate the opening, customers who spend over 5,000 yen will receive a 'limited cotton clear drawstring bag' (while supplies last).

The store is also planned to include a photo spot. Operating hours vary by season. Copyright: ©SEKIGUCHI
