Pasona Tempstaff Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazunari Kimura; hereinafter 'Pasona Tempstaff') co-hosted, on Friday, July 31, 2026, a parent-child event titled 'The Future of Money and Work' with Daiwa Connect Securities Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ryūji Ōtsuki; hereinafter 'Daiwa Connect Securities') as sponsor. The event targeted currently employed temporary staff and their children (grades 7–12).

A total of 22 parent-child pairs participated, learning about the relationship between 'money' and 'work' through a tour of the Tokyo Stock Exchange (Tokyo Stock Exchange Arrows), stock investment simulations, and financial education seminars.

Background of the Event

In recent years, the importance of acquiring knowledge about finance and the economy—not only through savings but also through asset formation via securities—and cultivating the ability to think independently and make informed decisions has been increasing. Additionally, there is a growing expectation for children to develop the qualities and abilities to make autonomous choices about their future career paths and ways of working from an early age. As a result, Japan's revised curriculum guidelines for elementary, junior high, and high schools emphasize the enhancement of financial and economic education as well as career education.

In this context, Pasona Tempstaff and Daiwa Connect Securities, part of the Daiwa Securities Group, have previously provided learning opportunities focused on 'money' and 'work' for employed temporary staff and their children. This time, as a special summer program, the event included a rare opportunity to visit the Tokyo Stock Exchange to experience firsthand the role of capital markets and the mechanisms of investing, along with seminars enabling parents and children to learn together about finance and careers.

A Parent-Child Opportunity to Reflect on the Connection Between Money and Work

The event was designed to deepen children's understanding of money and investing, while also serving as a starting point for them to consider their future career paths.

On the day, 46 participants from 22 families—temporary staff and their children (grades 7–12)—attended the event.

In the first session, participants took a guided tour of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. While learning about securities markets—rarely encountered in daily life—they experienced the relationship between corporate activities and investment through a gamified stock investment simulation.

In the second session, a collaborative seminar titled 'Thinking About the Future of Money and Work as a Family' was held by Daiwa Connect Securities and Pasona Tempstaff. Starting with questions like 'Why do we work?' and 'Why do we need money?', participants deepened their understanding through quizzes on fundamental topics such as asset formation and investment basics, engaging in dialogue as families.

Participant Feedback

[Children]

- The stock investment simulation sparked my interest in stocks and investing, which previously felt distant. I realized the importance of paying attention to current events and news.

- Reading stock prices was difficult, but I was happy to succeed in growing my assets after receiving explanations. I now have an interest in buying stocks.

- I learned that 'working' has the power not only to benefit oneself but also to bring smiles to others around me.

- I didn’t know much about my parents’ jobs before, but learning about them again was valuable. It was a great opportunity to reflect on what I want to do in the future.

[Parents]

- Being able to tour the Tokyo Stock Exchange—a place rarely accessible—with my child and experience investing firsthand was a meaningful time.

- The content was rich and something we couldn’t learn at school. Both my child and I found it highly educational.

- I hope my child understands that 'working' is not just about 'money.' Since they are at an age to consider their future, this was a valuable opportunity.

- I hope they can discover how to use their interests, passions, and strengths to contribute to society—by thinking deeply about it.
