Tempo Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Atsushi Morishita; Securities Code: 2751) will begin raising the national flag of Japan at its group stores and centers nationwide starting July 20, 2026 (Monday, a national holiday and Marine Day), on public holidays and the day of its shareholder meeting.

The initiative applies to 85 directly operated locations of Tempo Busters Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Atsushi Morishita). As a company supporting the food service industry, we aim to visibly express our gratitude and respect to Japan and to our local customers who visit us daily.

Additionally, four restaurant businesses under the Tempo Group will begin raising the Hinomaru flag at select locations, starting with Marine Day.

Asakuma Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Meito-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; President and CEO: Yoichi Hirota; Securities Code: 7678) will start the initiative at five stores and is working toward raising the flag at all stores by the end of the year.

Other companies—Yamato Sakana Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director: Atsushi Morishita), Sunrise Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Kimitoshi Matsumura), and Marche Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Abeno-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; President and CEO: Hirotsugu Kato; Securities Code: 7524)—will each begin raising the national flag at five stores.

Background and Our Thoughts

Walking Together with Japan

The Tempo Group has consistently supported Japan’s food culture through businesses ranging from kitchen equipment sales and resale to restaurant management support and restaurant operations. Our journey—supporting countless restaurant openings and building our business on the smiles of customers who gather at these establishments—is deeply rooted in Japanese daily life and culture.

In the past, it was common to see the national flag raised throughout towns on holidays, but today, such sights have become rare—perhaps seen at only one in every few hundred buildings. However, in today’s society, many people feel it is only natural for Japanese companies that love Japan to display the Hinomaru. In fact, most people may deeply cherish this sentiment in their hearts, yet lack the opportunity to express it visibly.

Making the 'Ordinary' Visible—Leading by Example

We are deeply grateful that our continued business operations have been made possible by Japan’s peace and the support of local communities. We believe it is rather unnatural for a company that loves Japan not to display the national flag, which symbolizes the nation.

Now, precisely because something widely considered 'ordinary' is rarely practiced, we—being a Japanese company—want to take the first step ourselves. By proudly raising the Hinomaru, we are not making a special statement, but rather returning to a natural state of honestly expressing respect for our own country.

Through raising the flag at shareholder meetings and stores, we aim to convey our unwavering corporate identity to our employees, shareholders, and customers.

The Hinomaru flag designated for display at the shareholder meeting has arrived at our headquarters.

Implementation Overview

Starting July 20, 2026 (Monday, Marine Day), we will raise the Hinomaru on all national holidays and on the day of our shareholder meeting. At storefronts, the flag will generally be raised before business hours begin. On rainy days, flag-raising may be suspended to prevent damage or soiling.
