On June 11, the 'MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK SPECIAL LIVE – Shibuya Sound Scramble 2026' took place across three live houses in Shibuya, Tokyo. The event featured Japanese artists such as Nisshoku Natsuko, Billyrrom, Kariyushi58, The Empty, Shisei Kyu, Itabime, kiyu, 7co, and PompadollS, alongside Asian acts including Cup of Joe (Philippines), Hindia (Indonesia), Winningshot (South Korea), and RIKI (Taiwan), creating a vibrant, cross-genre and cross-cultural live experience.

This event is part of the lead-up to 'MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026,' Japan's largest international music awards, whose ceremony will be held on June 13 at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO in Tokyo.

Building on last year’s 'MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN SOUND SCRAMBLE supported by Kyoto University of the Arts,' which took place at two venues in Kyoto, this year’s edition expanded to Tokyo and Osaka.

Additionally, special awards honoring Asian pop music were announced as part of 'MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026.'

Cup of Joe’s 'Multo' was selected for the 'Philippine Popular Music Special Award,' while Hindia’s 'everything u are' won the 'Indonesian Popular Music Special Award.'

Both artists are performing at 'Sound Scramble 2026,' and the award announcements have further heightened their visibility and anticipation for their live performances both in Japan and abroad.

Following the Tokyo shows, 'Osaka Sound Scramble 2026' was held on June 12 at Music Club JANUS in Osaka, featuring newly announced performer Masaaki Oto, along with SATOH, RIKI (Taiwan), and Winningshot (South Korea).

On June 15, another concert will be held at BIGCAT in Osaka, featuring Billyrrom, Cup of Joe (Philippines), Furui Riho, Hindia (Indonesia), and Rol3ert.

Sound Scramble brings together a diverse lineup of artists. The four Asian artists, including Cup of Joe (Philippines), who is nominated for the Best Asian Song Award at MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026, will also perform at the Osaka venues.
