TIS Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Yasushi Okamoto; "TIS"), a member of the TIS INTEC Group, announced the launch of its "Supply Chain Security Evaluation System Compliance Support Service" on May 25, 2026, to assist companies in complying with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's (METI) security assessment system for strengthening supply chains (the "SCS evaluation system").

The SCS evaluation system is a new public framework scheduled to be implemented by METI in the second half of 2026. It visualizes and certifies the implementation status of information security measures required for inter-corporate transactions using a star (★) rating system. The system aims to raise the overall security level of supply chains by having large enterprises demand certain security standards from their suppliers, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The "Supply Chain Security Evaluation System Compliance Support Service" provides one-stop support for compliance with ★3 and ★4 requirements of the SCS evaluation system, covering everything from current status analysis to the establishment of an operational framework. By utilizing TIS's expertise in security consulting—cultivated in sectors requiring high reliability such as finance, industry, and public services—and practical support menus, implementation is possible in as little as three months. The service focuses on achieving operational supply chain management that does not disrupt manufacturing lines, procurement, or logistics processes, rather than merely aiming for certification.

In recent years, the sophistication and division of corporate activities have complicated supply chains, leading to a surge in supply chain attacks that infiltrate the security environments of large enterprises via SMEs or subcontractors. In response to this situation, METI's SCS evaluation system requires the acquisition of stars based on the status of implemented measures. However, many companies face challenges such as a lack of know-how in managing subcontractors and the complexity of responding to different security requirements from various business partners. To resolve these onsite issues, TIS provides this service to implement compliance and practical security measures within a short period.
