24th 'This Mystery is Amazing!' Award 'Bunko Grand Prix' Winner 'Detective's Boundary' to be Released June 3!

Takarajimasha, Inc. will release "Detective's Boundary," the winner of the "Bunko Grand Prix" at the 24th "This Mystery is Amazing!" Awards, under the Takarajimasha Bunko label on June 3, 2026. This modular mystery, following in the lineage of masterpiece series like "87th Precinct" and "Inspector Frost," features a captivating story where two protagonists, Detective Midori Baba and Tadayuki Tamei of the Koganei Central Police Station, intersect in unexpected ways. The judges praised the structure, noting, "The technique of keeping the two apart and having their parallel stories intersect at the climax is skillful." The "This Mystery is Amazing!" Award was established in 2002 to discover and nurture mystery and entertainment writers. In 2020, the "Bunko Grand Prix" was introduced to publish outstanding works as paperbacks, producing numerous hits such as "Lemon and the Murderer" (over 300,000 copies) and "One-Dimensional Cuttings" (over 500,000 copies). The author, Akemichi Miyajima, was born in Tokyo in 1980. He began his career as a DJ at 16 and has the unique background of being a two-time Japan champion in the DMC DJ competition (2002 and 2007). In his acceptance speech, Miyajima stated, "A very happy turning point has arrived in my mid-forties."
