Mitsuo Arima, the Head of Information Systems at Tohshin Partners Holdings Inc., a group that handles the planning, development, sales, and management of investment properties, delivered a special lecture at the 6th Digitalization and DX Promotion Expo (ODEX) on May 13, 2026. The lecture was titled "The Twin Laws Discovered by a Hard-working IT Manager – The DX of 'Love and Spiral' We Carved Out." As a representative of a company that won the Semi-Grand Prix at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's DX Selection 2024, Arima shared his unique approach to building trust with frontline staff without using technical jargon and presented practical examples of AI and DX promotion. The presentation was aimed at business owners, corporate planners, DX promoters, and IT and back-office managers, offering concrete methods for an analog organization to take its first steps in DX. The biggest obstacle to DX in Japanese companies is often "resistance from the field" rather than technical issues. This lecture aimed to widely share practical knowledge with DX personnel in companies and municipalities facing similar challenges. The IT department at Tohshin Partners has successfully promoted DX in a highly analog organization (still reliant on phones and paper) by building trust. This achievement was recognized with the award and led to the invitation to speak. Arima's lecture detailed practical strategies, such as the "mosquito coil strategy" for achieving field-led DX without large investments, and communication techniques for involving employees with no IT experience. The company plans to continue its DX advocacy through external lectures and media appearances to enhance its brand recognition and accelerate the advancement of its operations and services through data and AI.
