Education startup Tokitsukaze Inc. (HQ: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Rinyu Yatsu) announced that it has acquired "Individual Guidance V-follows Nakanojima School" from V-education Inc. (HQ: Atsugi-shi, Kanagawa; CEO: Ryusuke Hamano). The school was integrated into the group and rebranded as "Individual Guidance Base Nakanojima School" starting in April 2026.
Tokitsukaze promotes business succession and serial M&A targeting approximately 50,000 cram schools and preparatory schools nationwide within Japan's roughly ¥3 trillion private education industry. The company aims to preserve local educational infrastructure for the next generation by inheriting the philosophies of small and medium-sized schools facing challenges such as a lack of successors.
"Individual Guidance Base Nakanojima School" is a community-focused private tutoring school located in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa. Through this succession, Tokitsukaze inherits the school's local trust and teaching approach while rebranding it as a learning space where students can learn to manage their own PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles through their studies.
The school operates under the concept of "thoroughly supporting students to 'do it themselves,'" offering personalized instruction for students from elementary to high school. Key features include: - Coaching support for study plans that encourage awareness of the PDCA cycle. - Close collaboration between students, instructors, and families to support the learning environment. - Fostering students' own thinking skills through coaching-based inquiry.
Kyoichi Kuwabara, the Head of Individual Guidance Base Nakanojima School, commented, "Through our meeting with Tokitsukaze, I felt we shared many common values and goals regarding education. I have high expectations for evolving into a learning environment that focuses more on student growth, without being bound by convention."
Tokitsukaze's COO, Yuka Tachibana, is a co-founder who graduated from a Canadian university with an International Baccalaureate diploma. She leverages her experience from several educational NPOs to drive the company's business.
