Ehime Bank, Ltd.

Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.

Niihama LNG Co., Ltd.

Ehime Bank, Ltd. (President: Yoshinori Nishikawa, hereinafter "Ehime Bank"), Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Shinichi Sasayama, hereinafter "Tokyo Gas"), and Niihama LNG Co., Ltd. (President: Makoto Suga, hereinafter "Niihama LNG") have concluded a "Cooperation Agreement for Decarbonization-Related Business Partnerships" (hereinafter the "Agreement").

Background and Purpose of Cooperation

While decarbonization is an urgent issue for companies, regional businesses often face difficulties in taking concrete actions due to a lack of know-how and human resources. To address these challenges, the three companies – Ehime Bank, which supports the regional economy; Tokyo Gas, which provides decarbonization solutions nationwide; and Niihama LNG, which is responsible for energy supply in the eastern region of Ehime Prefecture – have combined their respective strengths to create a framework for accelerating regional decarbonization.

Through this Agreement, we will provide one-stop decarbonization solutions tailored to customer needs, contributing to both environmental response and economic growth in the region.

First Initiative under this Agreement

Ehime Bank will begin offering the "Himegin J-Credit Time Deposit" (hereinafter the "Product"), which utilizes J-Credits generated from forests in Ehime Prefecture. In the operation of this Product, Tokyo Gas will provide J-Credit procurement and cancellation agency services.

Furthermore, in the future, within Tokyo Gas's supply area, we plan to offer "Carbon Offset City Gas" utilizing J-Credits generated in Ehime Prefecture to companies with ties to Ehime Prefecture. Ehime Bank and Tokyo Gas will cooperate with each other to support customers' decarbonization efforts from both financial and energy perspectives, and by circulating environmental value originating from Ehime Prefecture, we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable regional society.

*1: Greenhouse gas emission reductions achieved through the introduction of energy-saving equipment or the use of renewable energy, and greenhouse gas absorption through appropriate forest management, certified as "credits" by the government.

*3: Transferring J-Credits to an invalidation account on the J-Credit registry, making them untransferable thereafter. This prevents the environmental value from being double-counted elsewhere and officially confirms its use for achieving one's own reduction targets or for carbon offsetting. While sometimes referred to as "amortization," the term "invalidation" is used in the J-Credit system, and the practical meaning and role are the same.
