Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Shinichi Sasayama, hereinafter "Tokyo Gas") has concluded a Power Purchase Agreement (hereinafter the "Agreement") with Reihoku Wind Energy Joint Venture LLC (hereinafter "Reihoku Wind Energy"), an investment by Renova, Inc. (President and CEO: Yosuke Kinami, hereinafter "Renova"), for the Reihoku-Amakusa Onshore Wind Power Generation Business.

Under this Agreement, Tokyo Gas will purchase the electricity and environmental value generated at the power plant for 25 years and supply it through its electricity retail business. Wind power generation is expected to generate electricity even at night, when solar power generation is difficult, making it an effective power source for improving the balance between supply and demand from the perspective of simultaneous delivery, which matches electricity supply and demand on an hourly basis.

This Agreement is one of the concrete initiatives based on the capital and business alliance agreement (Note 1) concluded between Tokyo Gas and Renova in April 2024. The two companies will continue to promote collaboration in the development and acquisition of renewable energy power sources and the utilization of electricity and environmental value. Through this Agreement, Tokyo Gas will diversify its portfolio of renewable energy power sources and respond to the decarbonization needs of its customers.
