Tokyo Midtown (Akasaka, Minato-ku / Operator Representative: Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd.) today announced the opening of applications for the "TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD 2026" (Tokyo Midtown Award). Now in its 19th year, the "TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD" is a competition held in two divisions, Design and Art, with the concept of "JAPAN VALUE (new Japanese value, sensibility, and talent)" which Tokyo Midtown aims to create, gather, and continuously broadcast to the world, fostering encounters, support, and collaboration with talented designers and artists. <Art Competition> Theme: Applicant freely sets. We are seeking site-specific artwork proposals that utilize the location of Tokyo Midtown. Please freely express the message you want to convey from the center of the city to the world and beyond through art, setting your own theme. <Design Competition> Theme: Care What can be done with the power of design in an era where everyone harbors anxiety. To be considerate of others – neighbors and strangers alike – requires rich imagination. We are seeking ideas for "Care" that can slightly soften an uncertain and unstable world. Submission Period: April 10 (Fri) – June 30 (Tue) Grand Prix: 1 Million Yen + Trophy + Invitation to Italy, Milan during the "Salone del Mobile.Milano" international furniture fair
