Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taito-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Akihiro Kosaka, hereinafter "Tokyo Metro"), SMBC Card Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takeya Sasaki, hereinafter "SMBC Card"), and JCB Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Chairman & President: Takayoshi Futae, hereinafter "JCB") will jointly launch the "Tokyo Metro Summer Credit Card Ride Reward Campaign" on Thursday, July 16, 2026, across all Tokyo Metro lines.
Tokyo Metro has been offering a post-pay ride service using contactless payment cards (credit, debit, prepaid) or smartphones with such cards (hereinafter "card ride" ※1) since Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The card ride system allows passengers to pass through ticket gates directly using their credit cards without purchasing physical tickets. This service aims to improve convenience for regular ticket users and domestic and international visitors, promote cashless payments, and reduce congestion around ticket vending machines.
During the summer vacation period, Tokyo typically experiences increased travel demand from both domestic and international visitors, many of whom may be unfamiliar with public transportation systems. By using the card ride service, passengers can enter and exit stations without interacting with ticket machines or handling cash, reducing travel burden and enabling more efficient use of limited stay time. In light of this, the campaign aims to encourage trial usage of the card ride service during the summer vacation.
During the campaign period, Visa cardholders will receive a 30% cashback on their card ride transaction amounts (maximum ¥600 per campaign period). JCB cardholders using J-POINT eligible cards will earn 20 times the usual J-POINTS (normally 1 point per ¥200 spent, increased to 20 points during the campaign).
Additionally, a customer survey will be conducted for users of the card ride service during the campaign. Tokyo Metro, which primarily focuses on widely used transportation IC cards, will use the survey results to understand customer feedback on the convenience of the card ride service and apply these insights to future service improvements.

3. Important Usage Notes
● Eligible Cards
・Contactless payment-enabled Visa or JCB cards (credit, debit, prepaid) issued in Japan, or smartphones with such cards registered (hereinafter "eligible cards")
※ Some cards may be excluded.
※ For JCB, only J-POINT eligible cards qualify.
● Eligible Usage
・Only rides on Tokyo Metro lines using the eligible card’s contactless post-pay ride service (hereinafter "card ride") are eligible.
・For through services connecting Tokyo Metro lines with other railway operators, only the portion traveled on Tokyo Metro lines qualifies. (If the journey extends beyond the card ride service area, even the Tokyo Metro portion will not qualify. Please refer to "Important Notes on Card Ride Usage" below for details.)
・The eligible amount is based on the final transaction amount confirmed by the credit card company. Due to route selection or transfers, this amount may differ from the actual fare of the traveled route.
● Important Notes on Card Ride Usage
・Card ride service cannot be used beyond the designated service area (e.g., JR lines, Saitama Stadium Line, Toyo Rapid Railway Line). Please check the list of eligible routes and stations on each operator’s website.
※ If you travel beyond the service area, the card ride will be invalidated from the boarding station, and you must settle the fare in cash or other non-credit card methods at 10-yen increments. In such cases, even the Tokyo Metro portion of the ride will not qualify for the campaign.
・Card ride service cannot be used in conjunction with other tickets (e.g., commuter passes).
・Card ride service is not available for boarding at Nakano Station. If arriving at Nakano Station via card ride from another station, processing must be completed at the ticket gate counter.
