Tokyu Gourmet Front Co., Ltd. announced that it has joined the 'Fry to Fly Project,' which aims to realize a circular society through the collection and recycling of used cooking oil at its station-based soba noodle chain, 'Shibusoba.' As a company responsible for providing food, Shibusoba has always been committed to safe, secure, and sustainable store operations. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), made from waste cooking oil, can reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 80% compared to conventional aviation fuel. The 'Fry to Fly Project' is an initiative to realize a world where aircraft fly using SAF made from domestic resources, such as waste cooking oil generated in households and stores. Following participation in this project, all Shibusoba stores will separate and collect used cooking oil generated at the stores to promote recycling. Furthermore, the company will build a stable circulation system through awareness-raising activities for employees. Moving forward, the company will expand the number of stores participating in this project and communicate these efforts clearly to visiting customers, contributing to the creation of a sustainable society through food.
