Tokyu Recreation Co., Ltd. held a special preview event for the film "Ann Lee: The Beginning Story" (distributed by Walt Disney Japan), which opens on June 5, at 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku within the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower on May 27, 2026. The event featured a talk show with interior stylist Kanae Ishii. The film depicts the life of Ann Lee, the founder of the Shaker movement, whose philosophy of simple and disciplined living is reflected in the "Ann Shaker" series, co-developed by The Conran Shop and Ishii. During the event, Ishii discussed the "simple and beautiful way of life" present in both the film and the furniture. She expressed how she was moved by the harrowing life of Ann in England depicted in the film, noting that these hardships became the driving force behind her desire to build a utopian community. She also shared the background of the furniture development with The Conran Shop and explained the beauty of an orderly life through her experiences at the Hancock Shaker Village. Finally, she encouraged the audience to pay attention to the film's art direction and costumes. A special exhibition of the "Ann Shaker" series is being held at the cinema until June 18.
