Beat the Summer Heat! BASEGATE Yokohama Kanagawa's First Summer Event 'BASEGATE Summer Festival' to be Held from July 25th (Sat)!

At the large-scale complex district 'BASEGATE Yokohama Kanagawa' (hereinafter referred to as the district), which integrates hotels, live viewing arenas, commercial facilities, and offices as part of the 'Yokohama City Old City Hall District Utilization Project' in front of JR Kannai Station, the first summer event since its opening in March this year, 'BASEGATE Summer Festival,' will be held from July 25th (Sat) to August 31st (Mon).

At the 'BASEGATE Summer Festival,' we will hold various events to liven up the festival atmosphere, including the first Bon Odori event 'BASEGATE Bon Odori,' themed around the district's concept of 'fusion of old and new,' and the festival food event 'Kannai Night Market,' where you can enjoy festival food from about 20 stalls.

We also propose ways to enjoy the summer indoors to beat the summer heat. In addition to indoor contents such as 'Summer Wonderland 2026,' which is useful for free research, we introduce summer menus limited to BASEGATE Yokohama Kanagawa, such as 'Cold Banh Can' (Vietnamese noodle dish), that let you feel the coolness.

'Kannai Festival' Mikoshi Assembly

The assembly of the mikoshi for the 'Kannai Festival' held at the Bashamichi shopping street will be conducted at BASEGATE Yokohama Kanagawa in front of JR Kannai Station. You can see up close the traditional mikoshi assembly, which has not been seen before. Additionally, you can enjoy a taiko drum performance during the mikoshi assembly.

A live event started by music groups and live houses in Kannai for area activation. This time, enjoy a sunset jazz live performance by clarinet and piano by Miyawaki Atsushi and Matsuoka Anna, the two grand prize winners of the 'Chigusa Award' contest held at Jazz Cafe Chigusa (Yokohama Nogeyama), along with Yokohama music guidance by the OMO Rangers of <OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts>, and enjoy the festival night.

BASEGATE Yokohama Kanagawa, which advocates 'inheritance,' 'regeneration,' and 'creation' as its town development philosophy, was born by inheriting the site of the Yokohama City Hall. This place was once a fish market and a place that created the lively atmosphere of the city. This summer, we will hold the first Bon Odori event themed around the district's concept of 'fusion of old and new.' By dancing in a circle around the camphor trees that have watched over the history of this land, we will create new summer liveliness in Kannai.
