Kawasaki King Skyfront Tokyu REI Hotel (Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki City, General Manager: Naruyasu Akimoto) announced that on March 25, 2026, it obtained '4 Gyoiko Sakura' in 'Sakura Quality An ESG Practice,' an international certification for accommodations practicing SDGs. Sakura Quality Green, operated by Sakura Quality Management Inc., is Japan's first ESG certification system for lodging facilities. Based on standards approved by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), it evaluates 172 items related to environmental considerations and coexistence with local communities on a five-level scale. '4 Gyoiko Sakura' is the second-highest rating, requiring achievement of all Level 1 and Level 2 items, plus over half of Level 3 items. Since its opening in June 2018, the hotel has promoted various initiatives to reduce environmental impact and contribute to a sustainable society. The assessment recognized the hotel's environmental efforts and collaboration with stakeholders and local communities, achieving 169 out of 172 items. Key initiatives include 100% CO2-free electricity, 100% recycling of food waste into biogas, local-sourced breakfast buffets, fair trade certified coffee, upcycling used amenities, and local student work experience programs. The hotel aims to realize the three sustainability goals set by Tokyu Hotels: 'Earth-friendly hotels, community-friendly hotels, and people-friendly hotels,' contributing to a sustainable society through its hotel business. The hotel is located at 3-25-11 Tonomachi, Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, with 186 guest rooms, a restaurant, business lounge & cafe, meeting rooms, and a large public bath. It is approximately 10 minutes by car from Haneda Airport and 20 minutes by free shuttle bus from JR Kawasaki Station.
