Topy Industries Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiromi Ishii; hereinafter "Topy Industries") announced that it has decided to acquire a 10% equity stake in PT. PAKOAKUINA (hereinafter "PAKOAKUINA"), a major aluminum wheel manufacturer based in the Republic of Indonesia.
This investment aims to pioneer new and growth markets. By further strengthening collaboration with the PAKOAKUINA Group, an existing overseas alliance partner, Topy seeks to capitalize on the expected growth in the overseas aluminum wheel market.
Topy Industries has been providing technical support to the PAKOAKUINA Group since 1980. Through this investment in PAKOAKUINA, the company will evolve and strengthen the cooperation based on previous technical support into a strategic partnership involving capital ties.
With this addition of a strategic partner in Indonesia, alongside its mother factory in Japan and manufacturing bases in China and Thailand, Topy Industries will build a supply structure tailored to regional characteristics and expand the scope of proposals to customers. Additionally, the company will aim to enhance global competitiveness by operating each base in an integrated and flexible manner.
Furthermore, Topy Industries will expand its sales channels in the steadily growing Indonesian market and promote expansion into other ASEAN regions such as Malaysia. Additionally, the company will utilize the Indonesian base as a supply and proposal center to expand sales channels for high-value-added products to Western markets, ensuring optimized proposals according to local demand.
To promote the objectives of its mid-term management plan—namely, "strengthening overseas business foundations," "pioneering growth markets," and "expanding aluminum wheel sales through strengthened alliances"—Topy Industries will continue to enhance cooperation with overseas partners to expand its business foundation in growth markets and increase corporate value.
