[Report] SusHi Tech TOKYO 2026 Now Accessible from Anywhere via Avatar Service 'GENCHI'

toraru Co., Ltd. (HQ: Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo) introduced its avatar service, 'GENCHI,' at 'SusHi Tech TOKYO 2026,' a global innovation event held at Tokyo Big Sight from April 27 to 29, 2026. The service was provided as 'SusHi Tech Remote,' an access path allowing participation from anywhere in the world, and concluded successfully alongside the company's booth exhibition. This initiative, realized through a partnership between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and toraru, was utilized by over 150 people.

This marks the fourth year of the SusHi Tech TOKYO series, which focuses on AI, Robotics, Resilience, and Entertainment, providing an immersive experience of cutting-edge technology. GENCHI was offered as a new access path for entrepreneurs, investors, and students who found physical attendance challenging due to time or geographical constraints.

Participants joined from 15 countries, including Japan, the USA, India, Finland, the UK, and Germany. During their approximately one-hour session, users engaged in diverse business activities, including market research, product verification, sales, business card exchange, meetings, pitching, and attending presentations.

A Finnish startup founder commented, 'It felt like being there in person, and the future where I can save a 15-hour flight is already starting.' A U.S. corporate representative noted, 'I feel great potential in this as a means to reduce uncertainty in business decision-making,' emphasizing the value of precise connectivity from a distance. The 'KUROKO' agents on-site in Tokyo were also inspired by the passion of international participants and reported contributing significantly to this global business exchange.

The 'GENCHI' avatar service is an online mobility platform that allows users to access a destination through their browser, simulating tele-portation. It works by matching users with local workers on the platform, who act as the requester's avatar. By leveraging the local agent's smartphone for visual, auditory, and partial tactile input, the requester achieves an immersive experience 'on-site.' toraru plans to continue expanding mobility choices and supporting the achievement of objectives regardless of location.
