Opening Set for August 7: 'TOTOPA Hakata Station', a Sauna for Tasting Trees

Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. has announced that 'TOTOPA Hakata Station' (hereinafter 'this facility'), the second urban spa under the 'TOTOPA' brand, will open on August 7, 2026, in Meiji Park, which is being developed by Tokyo Tatemono in front of Hakata Station.

'TOTOPA' is an urban spa brand that leverages the know-how accumulated since 1999 by the Tokyo Tatemono Group through operating the 'Ofuro no Osama' bath facilities, offering compact yet unique relaxation experiences primarily in city centers. The first facility, 'TOTOPA Tokyo Metropolitan Meiji Park,' opened in 2024 within the Tokyo Metropolitan Meiji Park, the first to utilize the Park-PFI system, and has been highly acclaimed for its sauna-centered design, winning the SAUNACHELIN award twice in 2024 and 2025.

In this second facility, the company will utilize, without waste, one large-diameter Western red cedar log—a material becoming difficult to procure at this scale due to environmental regulations—to offer a new sauna experience under the concept of a 'Tree-tasting Sauna'.

● Concept of 'TOTOPA Hakata Station' The concept is a 'Tree-tasting Sauna'. It is designed as an experience to taste the scent, texture, heat transmission, and layers of time of a single tree with all five senses, rather than just a space for sweating. In creating the space, the company will utilize the expressions and individuality of every part of the Western red cedar, from bark to sapwood, heartwood, and scrap.
