Fujimi Town is reviewing its overseas dispatch program for junior high and high school students. The town acknowledges the program's value over 30 years but is questioning its significance and effectiveness. An exchange meeting will be held on April 25, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Community Plaza to gather opinions. The meeting aims to organize improvement proposals and options for issues like cost, fairness, and program evaluation, and will not decide on the program's approval or rejection. Feedback will be shared with the Town Administration Reform Council. The town encourages discussion on the value and challenges of overseas dispatch, expectations for youth development, investment in education with limited resources, and a program that resonates with many residents. Participation is limited to about 24 people, and attendees are asked to respect each other's opinions and contribute to constructive discussions. Applications are due by April 20, 2026.
