Michi-no-Eki Goka (operated by Goka Town Development Exchange Center Co., Ltd.) in Goka Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, will host the '5th Shin-Ibaraki Fair (Melon)' for 30 days from May 23rd (Sat) to June 21st (Sun), 2026, where visitors can enjoy the charm of Ibaraki-grown melons. Ibaraki Prefecture boasts the highest melon production in Japan. This fair will feature sales of high-quality melons, including those produced in Goka Town, as well as limited-time original melon sweets that the roadside station is proud of. During the fair, a total of four varieties will be sold sequentially, including 'Ibaraking,' which represents Ibaraki Prefecture, as well as 'Andes' and 'Quincy.' Limited-edition menus developed for this fair, such as shaved melon, melon sandwich melon bread, melon gelato, and soft-serve ice cream, will also be available. On the first day, May 23rd (Sat), a special event by Goka Mirai LAB, Musashino Bank, and Musashino Mirai Partners Co., Ltd. will be held simultaneously to highlight the regional appeal. Michi-no-Eki Goka intends to contribute to tourism development and regional economic revitalization through regular seasonal events held four times a year.
