Higashikawa Town in Hokkaido, known as the 'Town of Photography,' will sponsor and exhibit at the Hibiya Music Festival 2026, themed 'a free, borderless music festival open to everyone,' held over two days on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31. This is the fifth year Higashikawa has sponsored and exhibited at this event as the 'Photo Culture Capital,' and the town will continue to promote collaboration through the culture of 'photography x music.'

Conceptually an 'open-to-all music event where you can experience wonderful music' held at Hibiya Park, a sacred site for live concerts in Japan, the festival aims to 'create a new cycle of music.'

Since 2022, Higashikawa has participated as the 'Photo Culture Capital' in resonance with the vision of Seiji Kameda, the festival's executive committee chairman and representative of Makotoya Ltd. (an official partner of Higashikawa Town), who stated, 'I want to create an open space where people can meet various kinds of music, transcending generations, genres, and preferences. I want to provide an opportunity for as many people as possible to know the depth, breadth, and joy of music.'

Details of the exhibition booth will be announced on the Higashikawa Town website and social media as soon as they are finalized.
