Ishikari Wan Shinko Management Union (Administrator: Naomichi Suzuki) and Toyo Construction Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President, and Executive Officer: Kyoji Nakamura) signed an agreement on March 30, 2026, to designate Ishikari Wan Shinko as the home port for a state-of-the-art, self-propelled cable-laying vessel currently under construction by Toyo Construction, which will be among the largest in Japan.
By utilizing Ishikari Wan Shinko as a long-term home port, the parties aim to revitalize the port, facilitate Toyo Construction's offshore wind business initiatives, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and the promotion of regional industries.
Key points of the agreement: 1. Starting October 1, 2026, Ishikari Wan Shinko will serve as the home port for the self-propelled cable-laying vessel. 2. The Ishikari Wan Shinko Management Union will strive to coordinate the use of wharves for the vessel. 3. Toyo Construction will contribute to the regional economy by procuring necessary supplies, equipment, and materials for vessel operations locally. 4. The agreement is valid for three years, with the possibility of extension by mutual consent.
