Kono Co., Ltd. (President: Motoaki Kono), a food logistics provider based in Hiroshima Prefecture, is prioritizing the health management of its 454 employees. Starting in mid-June, the company will distribute beverages across all business locations to strengthen heat stroke countermeasures during the summer.

Amid record-breaking heat in recent years, the establishment of 'Extreme Heat Days' by the Japan Meteorological Agency, and mandatory heat stroke prevention regulations from 2025, social awareness regarding this issue has increased. In response, the company is implementing effective measures by integrating on-site feedback and professional expertise as part of creating a work environment where employees feel secure.

### 1. Beverage distribution reflecting 15 years of 'On-site feedback'

Begun in 2011, the beverage distribution program has been optimized based on feedback from the field. This year, a total of 4,540 beverages (10 PET bottles per person) will be distributed to 454 employees.

This habit has also fostered a culture where employees encourage their families to stay hydrated after returning home, spreading health consciousness beyond the workplace.

Sites have spontaneously implemented measures such as installing salt candy dispensers. A culture of 'mutual aid' has taken root, where employees check on each other's physical condition during breaks, saying, 'Don't overdo it' and 'Let's hydrate frequently.'

This year, the company has newly hired a registered dietitian to provide multi-faceted support, from heat stroke countermeasures to health guidance.

- Promotion of 'Preemptive Hydration': Encouraging hydration in small, frequent amounts before feeling thirsty to promote efficient absorption. - Visualization of information: POPs supervised by the registered dietitian are being posted on vending machines, providing tips on beverage selection and hydration points based on specific work scenarios.
