Local TV Show 'Kamaitachi no Okite' Draws 7,000 to Fan Festival 2026 in Shimane, Trends on Social Media

TSK San-in Chuo Television hosted the large-scale event 'Kamaitachi no Okite Kanshasai 2026' on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Kunibiki Messe in Matsue, Shimane. This markes the fourth consecutive year for the fan appreciation festival, attracting roughly 7,000 visitors.

The hall event, which seated 2,813 fans, featured the show's MCs, Kenji Yamauchi and Ryuichi Hamai of the comedy duo Kamaitachi. The stage production was significantly upgraded with dual 250-inch LED monitors and laser lighting. Highlights included an 'Ad-lib MC Battle' and a 'Rare Surname Search,' where the duo competed in five different categories. A coordinated social media campaign led to the event trending as high as 10th place in Japan on X.

Special guest Tsuyoshi Yamauchi, the younger brother of Kenji Yamauchi and known locally as a 'master of fraud prevention' due to police commendations, also made a surprise appearance. In the free-access area, over 30 booths offered food and merchandise. Collaboration t-shirts with fashion brand CIAOPANIC and 3,000 units of 'capsule toys' were nearly sold out. The 'Okite Museum' also showcased past costumes and production schedules.

The event highlights are scheduled to air on the regular TV program starting June 17, with availability on streaming platforms such as TVer, FOD, Lemino, and U-NEXT. Online orders for limited-edition merchandise are open until May 24.
