◼ Background for Launching a New Social Education and Lifelong Learning Initiative
In recent years, rapid technological advancements—such as generative AI—and shifts in social structures have significantly transformed our surrounding environment. In such an era, the ability to not only acquire knowledge but also to question various aspects of society and continuously explore answers through inquiry is increasingly essential.
At the same time, even for those who wish to 'start something new' or 'reflect on their future,' opportunities for learning spaces that serve as catalysts, or chances to engage in dialogue with people holding diverse values, remain limited. Opportunities to organize and learn together about one’s values and interests in environments distinct from school or work are also scarce.
In response to these social conditions, 321 Project is launching the 'Inquiry Classroom for Living in Modern Society' as a new social education and lifelong learning initiative.
Through this initiative, we aim to provide a space outside of school and work where diverse generations can learn together through dialogue, offering individuals the opportunity to consider 'what they should learn next.' Furthermore, by incorporating participants’ feedback and ideas into the planning of future workshops, we strive to co-create and nurture a sustainable social education and lifelong learning space together with the local community.
◼ About the 'Inquiry Classroom for Living in Modern Society'
This initiative is not a lecture-style course that unilaterally imparts knowledge or perspectives. Instead, it is a social education and lifelong learning program that facilitates dialogue and interactive workshops among participants to help them organize their values and interests and discover what they want to learn next.
The first session will focus on the theme 'Discovering Your 'Desire to Learn,' bringing together high school students, university students, and working professionals across generations and backgrounds. Through repeated dialogue, participants will reflect on their values and experiences and consider their future learning paths.
① Discovering Your Learning Path Through 'Dialogue'
Rather than passively acquiring knowledge, this program provides opportunities to organize one’s values and interests through dialogue and workshops, helping participants consider 'what they should learn next.'
② Learning Together Across Generations and Backgrounds
High school students, university students, and working professionals gather beyond the frameworks of school and work, sharing diverse values and experiences while learning from one another. Gaining new perspectives and insights through dialogue with people from different backgrounds is one of the key features of this initiative.
③ Co-Creating a Learning Space with the Community and Society
This initiative is not intended to end with a single workshop. By incorporating participants’ voices and ideas into the development of future workshop themes, we aim to co-create and nurture a continuous social education and lifelong learning space together with the local community and society.
