[Sunset Lake Cruise] Saroma Lake Tsuruga Resort to Launch SUP Experience for Guests in July

Tsuruga Resort Co., Ltd. (Location: 4-6-10 Akan-ko Onsen, Akan-cho, Kushiro City, Hokkaido / President: Nozomu Onishi) will launch the [Saroma Lake Private SUP Experience] as a new summer activity at Saroma Lake Tsuruga Resort starting July 2026.

Experience SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) on Saroma Lake, Japan's largest brackish lake, during sunset. Enjoy a special travel memory that can only be experienced here, while gazing at the lake surface sparkling with the beautiful sunset from the water. Instructors will guide you on how to use the paddle, how to ride the board, and the nature and characteristics of Saroma Lake, so even beginners can participate with peace of mind. This program will be conducted in cooperation with Neipal Kitami.

Meet at the venue by 17:30 (Meeting location will be announced on the official website or at the front desk)

Distribution of life jackets

Explanation of Saroma Lake's nature and characteristics, paddle adjustment, how to ride the board, and what to do if you fall into the lake

Move to the location and conduct SUP experience according to sunset time

Event Overview

Period: Until the end of September 2026

Time: 17:30 - 18:30 (approx. 1 hour)

Target Audience: Limited to guests staying at Saroma Lake Tsuruga Resort

Number of participants: 1 group to a maximum of 10 people

Price: ¥6,500 (tax included) for junior high school students and older, ¥2,500 (tax included) for 3rd graders and older

Reception: Reservation required 7 days prior to the event

*The price includes rental fees for all SUP equipment (board, paddle, life jacket, leash), instructor fees, and insurance fees.

What guests need to prepare

Swimsuit or board shorts (quick-drying T-shirts and rash guards are also recommended)

Towels and a change of clothes

Marine shoes or sandals that can get wet

Drinks (for heatstroke prevention)

Insect repellent spray (essential as there are many mosquitoes around Saroma Lake)

Waterproof bag or waterproof smartphone case (optional)

Notes

Bringing electronic devices such as smartphones is at your own risk. The facility and Neipal Kitami are not responsible for any troubles such as water damage, malfunction, or loss. Please understand this in advance.

Participation by those who are intoxicated or unwell is strictly prohibited.

For elementary school children, please be accompanied by a guardian for safety. Participation for 2nd graders and younger is not accepted. *Guardians can watch from the shore.

The experience may be canceled due to weather conditions (strong winds, thunderstorms, etc.). The decision on whether the event will proceed will be made at 15:30 on the day.
