The general incorporated association DEGAM Tsuruoka Tourism Bureau (Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, hereinafter DEGAM) has begun selling digital admission tickets for Tohoku Epson Aquarium Kamosui (Tsuruoka City Kamo Aquarium, hereinafter Kamosui) on its EC site "Kaoru Tsuruoka" starting July 8, 2026 (Wed).
This initiative aims to further promote the use of digital tickets for admission tickets in collaboration with Kamosui, in anticipation of a large number of visitors this fiscal year due to the "Yamagata Shonai Summer Tourism Campaign." DEGAM aims to provide more satisfying services to all visitors to Tsuruoka City by improving traveler convenience and enhancing tourism promotion and information dissemination utilizing data.
Specifically, visitor attribute information (non-personally identifiable information such as age, gender, and prefecture of residence) will be shared and analyzed with Kamosui to be used for future information dissemination and service improvement. Furthermore, through post-visit questionnaires and tourism information dissemination, we aim to create ongoing touchpoints between travelers and Tsuruoka City, and establish a system that encourages repeat visits.
Digital Ticket Overview
Upon registering as a member on the EC site "Kaoru Tsuruoka" and purchasing a digital ticket, the URL provided in the purchase confirmation email or the QR code displayed on your My Page will serve as your admission ticket.
On the day of your visit, you can smoothly enter the facility without any cash transactions by presenting the QR code at the reception desk, where it will be read by the reception terminal.
The ticket is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
[For Purchasers Only] Official Shop Coupon Presented with Aquarium Questionnaire
As a special project this year, those who purchase a digital ticket will receive an email with a questionnaire after their visit.
Those who complete the aquarium questionnaire will receive a coupon that can be used for a limited time at Kamosui's official shop "Kurage Akari" (valid until March 31, 2027).
The questionnaire will ask about satisfaction and opinions regarding the aquarium, and as a double chance, you will also be invited to participate in the "Tsuruoka City Tourism Questionnaire" conducted by DEGAM, where you can win a lottery for a chance to receive "Tsuruoka Specialty Products worth 3,000 yen."
The feedback received will be used not only to improve services at the Kamo Aquarium but also to enhance the appeal of Tsuruoka City as a tourist destination.
Furthermore, the distribution of questionnaires for this special project is being carried out with the cooperation of the Watanabe Laboratory at the Faculty of Business Information, Shizuoka Prefectural University, which is collaborating on the "Tsuruoka City Tourism Questionnaire" survey.
Continuous Delivery of Tsuruoka Tourism Information
When registering as a member of "Kaoru Tsuruoka," you will be invited to subscribe to an email newsletter that delivers Tsuruoka City's tourism information.
By continuously disseminating information on seasonal attractions and events, we aim to encourage repeat visits to Tsuruoka City, using the aquarium visit as a catalyst.
