Aomori Prefectural Citizens' Mutual Aid PRESENTS "Ukiyo-e On the Move AOMORI" 3 Days Until Opening! Night Museum on Opening Day, July 11 (Sat) Decided! *Extended Hours Until 8 PM (Regularly Until 6 PM)

"Ukiyo-e On the Move" is an immersive art exhibition that introduces over 300 works by Edo-period ukiyo-e artists such as Hokusai Katsushika, Kuniyoshi Utagawa, and Hiroshige Utagawa through digital art video content using 3DCG animation and projection mapping.

Following its opening in Nagoya in July 2023, it has toured to Kagoshima, Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka. With growing international attention, including exhibitions in Milan in April 2024, Taipei in 2025, and Paris in 2026, it will finally be held in Tohoku for the first time in the summer of 2026. In addition to digital displays, visitors can learn about the history of ukiyo-e and Edo culture through exhibitions of famous ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period and their reproductions.

While regular hours are until 6 PM (last admission 5:30 PM), on the opening day only, hours will be extended until 8 PM. Please enjoy a special evening of ukiyo-e.

Tsugaru Crafts Select Shop Kusamura Produce Shop Opens!

A shop produced by Kusamura, a popular shop in Dotemachi, Hirosaki City, which selects traditional Aomori crafts with a modern sensibility, will open adjacent to the Ukiyo-e exhibition venue. This shop has gained support for its miscellaneous goods, which fuse the meticulous handiwork of artisans with modern design, as "high-quality art that blends into daily life."

It is also possible to use the merchandise shop only. There are many attractive goods, including limited-edition exhibition items and a wide selection of Aomori souvenirs! Please be sure to visit the venue.
