Ulsan Namgu District, South Korea, announced the 5th Jangsaengpo Hydrangea Festival from June 19 to 28, 2026, at the Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village. The event will showcase 37,000 hydrangea plants (900,000 blooms) of 40 varieties. Beautiful light installations will illuminate the gardens at night. A key highlight is the official opening of Whales Kart, a 1.05km eco-friendly kart track reaching speeds of 40 km/h. Inspired by Ulsan Namgu's mascot 'Jangsaeng-i', the kart offers a thrilling view of the Whale Sculpture Park, lavender fields, and the Whale Culture Village. The festival features diverse programs at the Whale Square stage, including acoustic concerts, street music, magic shows, and Saturday night fireworks. A tourism promotion booth with a flea market and food trucks will open early on June 6. Admission to the festival is free, while kart rides require paid tickets, which also offer discounts on tourist souvenirs. Ulsan Namgu is South Korea's only Whale Culture Special Zone, continually expanding its tourism infrastructure with facilities like 'The Wave' media facade, 'Goraejam' lodgings, and the 'Goraedeung-gil' pedestrian bridge.
