Unito Joins the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren)

Unito Inc. is pleased to announce that it joined the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) on May 7, 2026.

Purpose of Joining Keidanren

Under the vision of "pursuing the optimization of living," Unito has been promoting a new real estate utilization model that flexibly combines rental and accommodation assets, centered on the "Relent" rent system, which is tied to the number of days stayed.

We aim to redefine sustainable cities and regional living environments by addressing complex social issues spanning housing and stay needs, such as diversifying urban accommodation supply due to tourism demand, developing environments for workations and dual-residence living, and improving housing for highly skilled foreign professionals.

Keidanren's October 2025 proposal, "Toward the Realization of a Sustainable Tourism-Oriented Nation," identified excessive demand in urban areas, including from foreign visitors, as a challenge, highlighting the diversification of accommodation supply and improvement of hosting environments as key policies.

As Japan faces structural challenges such as population decline, rising numbers of vacant houses, and labor shortages, we believe creating new industrial models that cross real estate, accommodation, and tourism sectors is essential. As a member of Keidanren, we will engage in the following initiatives to contribute to solving social issues and developing the Japanese economy:

- Participation in Policy Recommendations We will contribute field-based perspectives to policy discussions aimed at the sound expansion of the residential accommodation market and the development of regulatory environments.

- Strengthening Collaboration with Other Companies We will promote the development of living environments that meet diversifying needs, such as dual-residence living supported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and needs of highly skilled foreign professionals. We will contribute to the sustainable development of Keidanren's priority areas including tourism, urban housing, foreign policy, and startups.

Taking this membership as an opportunity, we will contribute to the sustainable development of the Japanese economy through promoting business collaborations with Keidanren member companies.

* Rent System "Relent": A system where residents apply online for days they will be away, and rent is reduced accordingly. By providing the room as an accommodation facility during the "Relent" period, residents can adjust their rent to reflect only the days they lived there.
