Sushi Tomi, a sushi restaurant located at the gateway to Awaji Island in the Awaji Highway Oasis, where visitors can enjoy seasonal ingredients while overlooking the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, will launch a one-month seasonal menu featuring "Anago" (conger eel) and "Tsubasu" (young yellowtail) starting June 1, 2026. The "Minazuki" menu is priced at 5,500 yen (tax included) and includes grilled conger eel, tsubasu yukke, tempura of conger eel and onion, sushi, soup, and dessert. Seto Inland Sea conger eel is known for its rich flavor, high fat content, and soft skin and bones due to the nutrient-rich environment. Tsubasu, a Kansai term for young yellowtail, is in season from spring to early summer and offers a refreshing taste. Sushi Tomi focuses on local catches like Nushima conger pike and Yura red sea urchin, serving them with red vinegar rice aged with kelp, salt, and lemon. Awaji Highway Oasis is directly connected to the Awaji Service Area on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway and is also accessible from local roads.
