The collaboration project 'odol × Ryu Matsuyama' has launched, with plans for a 4-track EP release and a performance at Tokyo Kinema Club.
The project began because Ryu had long been a fan of odol. In 2024, Kimiki Moriyama of odol participated as an arranger for Ryu Matsuyama's song 'To get there,' and through that process, they deepened their resonance with each other's musicality.
From there, the concept of 'how can we fuse the sensibilities cultivated in each band in a new way' was born, developing into a full-scale co-production project as 'odol × Ryu Matsuyama'. They will release the EP 'd r i f t', containing four collaborative tracks, in September 2026. This work is planned to be sold exclusively at live venues as a Zine with a CD.
Not only music production but also jacket design and artist photography were done DIY. Returning to the origins of their own production, they pursued free expression without being bound by genre or format. To commemorate this project, the collaborative solo live 'odol × Ryu Matsuyama “d r i f t”' will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Tokyo Kinema Club. Furthermore, the spin-off acoustic live 'drifters' by the vocals of both bands will be held at SHITORAYA in Shimokitazawa and BLUE Enoshima in Enoshima.
