VRChat Inc. (HQ: USA, CEO: Graham Gaylor), which operates the world-leading immersive social platform 'VRChat', is sponsoring the '2nd Digital Apparel Design Contest' to be held from mid-July to Saturday, September 26, 2026.

What is the 2nd Digital Apparel Design Contest?

It is a team-based hackathon that implements real-world apparel designs within VR. The goal is to establish a practical workflow for smoothly and accurately transforming apparel designs and patterns into '3D data'. Please refer to the official page for details.

Implementation in VRChat

In this contest, participants will have the 3D data apparel designs they create worn by designated avatars, and produce video works filmed within VRChat as their final deliverables.

This is the first time in this contest that implementation and filming within VRChat will be part of the final presentation. VRChat is sponsoring this initiative with the expectation that it will connect real-world apparel technology with expressions unique to virtual spaces, opening up new possibilities for digital apparel.
