Animal General Hospital (Location: 815 Ishigami, Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; Director: Shinichi Kanezono) implemented an awareness method that linked SNS with a real-life event at the local dog event "Inu no Omatsuri in Soka" held in Soka City on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
In veterinary medicine, while "blood transfusions" are an essential treatment to save lives, there is a constant and severe shortage of donors due to the absence of public blood banks. Our hospital believes that in order to increase the number of lives saved even by one, there is an urgent need to expand awareness of the "donor system," which relies on mutual help among pet owners, and thus we implemented this initiative. By linking health checks at the venue with our official Instagram, we disseminated information from both online and offline perspectives.
Awareness Initiatives Linking SNS and Real Events At this event, our hospital conducted awareness activities that linked initiatives at the venue with information dissemination on our official Instagram.
On the day of the event, we broadcasted the health checks and introduced the participating dogs and cats in real time. This made it possible to deliver the activities to people who could not come to the venue, demonstrating the effectiveness of information dissemination combining online and offline channels.
About 40 Dogs and Cats Participated in Health Checks At our hospital's booth, veterinarians conducted simple health checks.
We checked the Body Condition Score (BCS) and oral cavity, and about 40 dogs and cats participated.
Furthermore, between health checks and in front of the booth, we explained the blood donor system for dogs and cats at our hospital, aiming to promote understanding of the necessity of transfusion medicine and the mechanisms of donor registration.
