Development at the Cannes Film Festival Official GALA
KEIKO, recognized as an award-winning and talented painter, designed a special art furoshiki (wrapping cloth) to be gifted to international guests at the 77th Cannes Film Festival Official GALA (held on May 18, 2024).
In her work, she depicted motifs such as Japanese flowers and cranes, arranging them as if they were blooming and scattered within the furoshiki, a symbol of Japanese culture.
Also at the GALA, as an Ikebana (flower arrangement) performance, cherry blossom trees were airlifted from Japan, and an original performance to make “Japanese flowers bloom” was actually held at the venue.
KEIKO's work was developed in concert with this Japanese cultural performance, and was highly acclaimed on the international stage as a symbolic expression of the fusion of Japanese cultural aesthetics and art.
