Background of the Event: Presenting the 'End-to-End' Strength of the Production Region. Wakayama is one of the world's leading knit production regions. Its true strength lies in the close collaboration between companies with highly specialized technologies, covering not only 'knitting' but also 'dyeing,' 'brushing,' and 'sewing.' In this exhibition, 12 manufacturing companies gathered as the 'Wakayama Knit Supply Chain.' This was an unprecedented attempt to demonstrate the proposal power of the entire region by complementing each other's unique technologies and expertise. The exhibition featured content titled 'Wakayama Daibakusho,' born from a collaboration between the magazine 'Begin' and the Wakayama Knit Industry Association, showcasing the latest knit products developed through this partnership. The structure, which displayed everything from material quality to product perfection, attracted the interest of many creators and buyers. Results: Mobilizing 539 Visitors, Far Exceeding the Initial Target. For this first-time event, we welcomed a total of 539 visitors over two days (over 260% of the target), far exceeding the initial goal of 200. The venue was filled with constant dialogue between craftsmen and visitors, leading to deep business negotiations regarding specific specifications. Planning and Operation by Four Next-Generation Successors: This project was led by four young members of the Wakayama Knit Industry Association's youth division who are scheduled to take over their businesses in the future. Their passion to 'strengthen horizontal connections within the region and pass on the value of Wakayama knitwear to the next generation' created a bond that transcended corporate boundaries. Experiencing Wakayama Culture with All Five Senses: The venue offered coffee from 'COFFEE MOKUREN' and chocolates from 'KII.CHOCOLATE,' both famous shops in Wakayama. This hospitality, allowing visitors to experience the rich culture of Wakayama that aligns with meticulous craftsmanship, was one of the highlights of the exhibition. Future Outlook: Following this success, the youth division plans to continue holding these exhibitions. We will further strengthen the unity of the supply chain and continue to widely promote the technical capabilities and potential of Wakayama knitwear.
