The Grand Seiko Wako Limited Model began sales in 2002. This 40th model is a special model created by returning to the origin with the theme of "Wako's Beauty."
Beautifully shining case design embodying Grand Seiko's aesthetic The case adopts the "44GS Modern Design," which adds a contemporary interpretation to the "44GS" that established Grand Seiko's unique design grammar, the "Grand Seiko Style." It features a series of flat, distortion-free mirror surfaces created by Zaratsu polishing, allowing enjoyment of the changing light. The hands and indexes are multi-faceted for a sharp form, achieving high legibility. It incorporates numerous details that can be called the origin of the Grand Seiko Style.
The dial is an ivory color inspired by Wako's original limited model An elegant ivory color, inspired by the Wako limited model released in 2005, which was the first to be equipped with the Spring Drive movement, is adopted. Gold color is incorporated as an accent color for the GS logo, the vapor deposition on the glass edge, and the power reserve hand and second hand, creating a brilliance unique to a limited model.
Equipped with Spring Drive movement "Caliber 9R65" Spring Drive is Seiko's unique movement that uses the unwinding force of a mainspring, similar to a mechanical watch, as its power source, while precisely controlling accuracy with an IC and crystal oscillator. It features a smooth, silent sweep second hand that glides across the dial. "Caliber 9R65" is a brand-exclusive movement that achieves an automatic winding mechanism and a 72-hour power reserve, and was first installed in Grand Seiko in 2004. The complex overlapping train wheels and the three-dimensional arrangement of the receiving parts evoke the depth of the mountains of Shinshu, the birthplace of Spring Drive, and the power reserve train wheels to the barrel express the Hotaka Mountain Range and the Jonen Mountain Range.
Wako Limited Edition Mark In addition to the lion emblem, the case back is inscribed with "WAKO LIMITED COLLECTION" and a serial number.
