PURE CRAFT expresses WAKO’s cherished Japanese aesthetic sensibilities and sincere, pure craftsmanship. It honors Japanese artisans who possess Boundless Passion (limitless passion) through original designs and materials. This collection integrates materials and techniques from across Japan, with all aspects—material selection, combination, and design—planned in-house.

Respect for Japanese Craftsmanship

This collection features carefully selected fabrics cultivated by production regions throughout Japan. Each piece embodies depth created by combining different materials and fabric processing, the inherent quality of the materials themselves, and the aesthetic sense achieved through handcrafting.

Silk and wool used in the collection are sourced from regions such as Kiryu and Shosei, selected from across Japan to suit each lineup. The combination of materials creates a texture unique to WAKO. The sewing and pattern-making techniques that beautifully construct these original fabrics are the result of artisans’ meticulous handwork developed over many years.

The lineup maximizes the appeal of the fabrics, centered on authentic designs that transcend trends, while incorporating modern sensibilities. WAKO’s completely original designs, which allow wearers to express their individuality even in quiet elegance, are a key feature.

<Combed Wool – Production: Shosei>

Combed wool that feels smooth without fuzziness, suitable for year-round wear.

A unique drape is added through finishing, with the surface not flat but shaded as if aged over time. It feels refined yet warm.

A clean, streamlined jacket paired with wide straight-leg pants with two tucks. Both the look and feel are light and comfortable. The jacket features silk lining, and the pants are made with marble finish, emphasizing comfort against the skin and meticulous attention to detail.

High-density cotton fabric is washed and carefully loosened to create a subtle, naturally worn-in texture over time. The faint nap resembling trapped air, combined with soft, warm-toned colors, creates a modest yet refined impression.

While preserving the fabric’s natural character, it is shaped into a soft silhouette with moderate volume and a sense of negative space.

The surface retains wool’s naturally strong, rustic texture, while the reverse side is softly brushed for comfort against the skin.

The double-face fabric with contrasting textures exudes a quiet presence. The wool’s moderate firmness gives the fabric resilience, enabling structured designs while maintaining a natural appearance.

Simple yet featuring an intentionally wide collar. From the front, it appears as a dropped shoulder; from the back, the fabric flows from the back to the arms, creating a beautiful silhouette from any angle.
