This Summer, an Inn Transforms into an Art Gallery: New Accommodation Plan Launches for Families to Enjoy an "Art Journey Within the Inn"

Wataya Bessou Co., Ltd. (Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture; President: Yoshimoto Ohara; hereinafter "Wataya Bessou") announces the launch of a limited-time summer accommodation plan for families, "Art Journey Within the Inn," available from July 18, 2026 (Sat) to August 31, 2026 (Mon).

Centered around the theme "A Summer Vacation Immersed in Art," this plan offers three experiential programs designed to nurture children's sensibilities through architecture, fragrance, and craftsmanship. The experience reimagines a stay at the inn into a creative and educational summer vacation for parents and children alike.

At Wataya Bessou, we aim to transform overnight stays from simple getaways into meaningful encounters with regional culture and art.

This summer, we present in-house programs themed around "art" to nurture children's creativity and curiosity. Discover the beauty of Japanese architecture, create your own fragrance, and take home a unique handmade piece—offering families memorable experiences and learning opportunities that only travel can provide.

◇ Program Highlights

1 Kids' Art Tour of the Inn

A guided tour specially designed for children, offering access to areas of Wataya Bessou not normally open to guests. Staff will introduce participants to Japanese architectural features and artworks, including the coffered ceilings of "Suimeisou," a nationally registered tangible cultural property, as well as traditional Japanese design elements and art pieces. The tour also includes unique spaces such as OIC and the Penguin Room, revealing new charms of the inn.

2 Parent-Child Fragrance Creation Workshop

A hands-on workshop where families blend natural aromatic ingredients to create a personalized fragrance. The process of selecting and blending scents becomes a special experience that nurtures children's imagination and sensibility. Guests can take home their finished fragrance bag as a keepsake of their trip.

3 Create Your Own Unique Cut-Paper Fan

Using cut paper, colors, and patterns, guests will craft a one-of-a-kind fan. This handmade artwork can be taken home as a summer memento and also used in daily life. Working together, families can share the joy and sense of accomplishment that comes from making something with their own hands.
