WHILL to Exhibit at "Nenrin x Technology" Advanced Technology Experience Event for Nenrinピック Tokyo 2028

WHILL Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Osamu Sugie; hereinafter "WHILL") participated in the "Nenrin x Technology" Advanced Technology Experience Event held after the first preparatory committee meeting for the "39th National Health and Welfare Festival Tokyo Tournament" (Nickname: Nenrinピック Chōju Tokyo 2028; hereinafter "Nenrinピック Tokyo Tournament"), a festival of sports and culture for seniors, on July 8, 2026 (Wed). WHILL provided opportunities to exhibit and test ride its "WHILL" personal electric vehicle, a short-distance mobility device that can be operated in pedestrian areas without a license.

This experience event was held to deepen understanding of advanced technology-related products and services in preparation for the Nenrinピック Tokyo Tournament, which is scheduled to be held in Tokyo for the first time in November 2028.

As one of the participating companies, WHILL exhibited its flagship model, "WHILL Model C2." Committee members of the preparatory committee test rode the device, experiencing its intuitive operability that makes it easy for anyone to drive, its maneuverability that allows for on-the-spot turns thanks to its omni-wheels, and its stable running performance. They were able to experience firsthand its potential as a mobility solution to support the daily movement and outings of seniors.

The basic concept of the tournament aims to realize a "truly mature city where everyone can shine forever, and a world-leading longevity (Chōju) society" by leveraging Tokyo's strengths. One of the tournament's goals is to be a "tournament where the potential of digital and advanced technologies can be experienced," aiming to provide opportunities to encounter and realize the potential of technologies that lead to improvements in QOL (Quality of Life) and well-being.

WHILL has been involved in mobility support by deploying short-distance mobility services utilizing technology in various settings, including commercial facilities, airports, tourist destinations, and local transportation. The company is also advancing initiatives to support independent daily living, such as through rental under the long-term care insurance system for use in home and care settings, and by providing services that use IoT to allow users and their families to share the status of the device and outing history.

Based on this wide range of achievements and knowledge, WHILL introduced its personal electric vehicle as a means of transportation to support the outings and social participation of seniors and other diverse individuals.

About Nenrinピック Tokyo Tournament

"Nenrinピック" is a comprehensive festival of sports, culture, health, and welfare centered on seniors aged 60 and over. Over 10,000 participants from across the country compete in sports and cultural events, and various events are held, including art exhibitions, music festivals, and activities enjoyable for all generations.

This tournament, the first to be held in Tokyo, is organized by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the Japan Gerontological Research Institute, with the cooperation of the Japan Sports Agency, and is scheduled to be held from November 3 to 6, 2028.
