Kamogawa Grand Hotel, operated by Withseed Hospitality Management Co., Ltd., has announced the establishment of the 'Kamogawa Grand Hotel-mae' bus stop for the 'Axy' highway bus line between Tokyo and Kamogawa, effective May 16, 2026. This will enable direct access from within Tokyo to the hotel, improving convenience for visitors who do not use private cars.
Improved Primary Transportation Convenience While Kamogawa Grand Hotel currently offers a shuttle service between Awa-Kamogawa Station and the hotel, access for non-drivers has been a challenge due to a reduction in direct express train services from Tokyo. This bus route change will not only provide affordable, transfer-free access from Tokyo Station but also enhance overall tourism convenience, as the bus stops at tourist spots like 'Ohyama Senmaida' rice terraces and 'Michi no Eki Hota Shogakko.'
Hotel Shuttle Services to Address Secondary Transportation Issues Despite its rich natural and tourism resources, the Kamogawa area has an underdeveloped public transportation network, making it difficult for non-driving visitors, particularly groups of middle-aged women and young people, to access tourist sites. To address this, Kamogawa Grand Hotel operates seasonal shuttle services from the hotel to recommended spots. These include shuttles to Kamogawa Sea World, local beaches in the summer, firefly viewing in June, and the Oyama Senmaida rice terrace illuminations from fall to early winter, all of which have been well-received. The hotel plans to further enhance these shuttle services to increase the value of stays, allowing guests to fully experience the region's nature and culture.
Commitment to Regional Tourism Revitalization With the new bus stop, the hotel plans to link it with its existing secondary transportation services to further promote tourism in the Boso and Kamogawa area. By strengthening its appeal to customers who do not use private cars, the hotel aims to grow alongside the local community.
