Wombo Games Unveils Major Update 'Fangs & Faces' for 'Raiders of Blackveil' – Two New Champions Join the Rebellion

Copenhagen-based indie game studio Wombo Games has announced today the new update 'Fangs & Faces' for 'Raiders of Blackveil.' This update introduces two new playable champions: Foxlee, the game's first archer-type character, and Valora, a paladin who wields the power of light. The game supports not only solo play but also cooperative gameplay for up to three players, combining fast-paced top-down action, MOBA-style champion systems, character progression, and deep ARPG mechanics reminiscent of hack-and-slash titles. It is one of the most anticipated new roguelites of the year. In every raid, team coordination, build composition, combat skill and perk selection, and the ability to survive long enough to retrieve valuable and powerful items are key to success.

New Champions Joining the Rebellion

Foxlee

A gifted archer, Foxlee learned that his family had pledged loyalty to Blackveil and left home at a young age. Wielding a magical bow, he dominates the battlefield with ice magic while unleashing powerful shots that pierce through enemies.

Valora

A paladin raised in the last monastery untouched by Blackveil's influence, Valora left after losing a maternal figure in a mysterious incident and joined the rebellion. Wielding a massive hammer and the power of light, Valora possesses a versatile combat style capable of excelling in both offense and defense.

Additionally, based on feedback received during early access, Wombo Games has added a new feature allowing players to save and exit during raids, then resume from the same point later. Following the new biome 'Gulag' introduced in May, ten new equipment items have been added. More equipment will be introduced in future updates. These additions expand build options and enable more satisfying, powerful gameplay experiences, along with new combinations of perks and gear.

'Raiders of Blackveil' is developed by Wombo Games, an independent studio led by Janos Flösser, co-founder of IO Interactive and former Chief Creative Officer at Square Enix. The game is currently in early access on Steam, with Version 1.0 (full release) scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
